Compliance & Disclosures

This page is the plain-English version of what we sell, who pays you, how we are paid, what our numbers mean and what you should not read into anything on this site. It sits alongside our Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, Refund Policy and Earnings Disclaimer. We follow the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s guidelines on advertising, endorsements, testimonials and earnings claims.
What you are buying — read this one twice
Citizens Opinion Panel is a privately owned company. For one payment of $19 we show you where to get paid for your opinions. You get a list of the places and the ways an ordinary person gets paid for what they think — research panels, political and civic surveys, focus groups, mock juries, in-depth interviews, product and advertisement tests, call-in opinion lines — and for each one, what it pays, what it involves, and how to apply so that you actually get accepted. The companies on that list are the ones who pay you. We do not pay you, we do not employ you, and we do not write the questions. We are a paid list — a directory and matching service. That is the entire thing.
We are not the payer. Every dollar anybody earns from the things on our list is paid by an outside company — the research firm, the panel, the focus group facility, the market research company running the test. You deal with that company directly, you agree the pay with them, and they pay you. Money never goes from us to you, and we hold no earnings account or balance for you.
Who we are not
We are a private company, not a government agency or program, not an election authority or regulator, and not affiliated with or endorsed by any government body, political party, campaign or candidate. Our domain contains the word “Foundation” and our brand contains the word “Citizens” because what we do is show ordinary citizens where to get paid for their opinions. Neither word means anything official. Nothing we send you is a notice, a benefit, a grant, a ballot, a voter registration or a government payment, and no part of what we do is carried out on behalf of any public body.
We cannot promise any company accepts you
Every company on the list decides for itself who it takes. Most of them screen applicants, and most of them have more applicants than places. We cannot guarantee that any particular company accepts you, that any particular opportunity is open where you live, or that you will be paid anything at all. What we can do is show you where to apply and how to apply well. See the Earnings Disclaimer.
How we are paid
We are paid by you, and only by you: the one-time $19 for the list, plus either of the two optional upgrades if you choose to buy them. We are not paid a commission by the companies on the list, we do not sell your details to them, and nobody pays us to be listed. Payments are processed by Explodely, our payment gateway, and appear on your statement under Explodely.
We are not political, and we do not want to be
We show people where to get paid for an opinion. We do not promote opinions. We have no endorsed candidate, no preferred party and no position on any ballot measure. Nothing we sell has anything to do with your vote, your voter registration or your ballot, and nobody is paid — by us or by anyone on our list — to hold, express or change a particular opinion. Two people who disagree about everything can use the same list and get paid the same rates. We do not register anyone to vote, we do not campaign, we do not donate, and we do not pass member details to parties, campaigns or candidates.
What the $19 is
The $19 is a single, one-time charge for access to the list. Nothing renews, there is no subscription and there is no monthly fee. Every purchase on this site is covered by our 30-day Refund Policy.
The optional upgrades
After you buy the list you may be offered two optional upgrades:
- Done-For-You Setup — $67. A service we perform for you: our team fills in and submits the applications to every panel on your list, writes your profiles so they read properly, and sets up your payout details once, so you log in to a finished account. It saves you the typing. It does not and cannot make any company accept you.
- The Private Board — $37. A second list: paid opinion work that is not publicly advertised — focus groups paying $75 to $300 for ninety minutes, mock juries, in-depth interviews and invitation-only panels that recruit through people like us rather than off a website. It pays more and far fewer people see it. It is still outside companies who pay you, and they still decide who they accept.
Each is a separate one-time charge, each can be declined, neither is required, and declining either one does not reduce what you already bought. If you decline, a lower price may be offered once before the offer closes. That lower price is real, and it is the same product.
What our figures mean
Where this site says $18.20, that is the average pay for one paid opinion job on the list — paid by the outside company, not by us. Where it says 7, that is the number of paid opinion jobs open on the list at the moment. Where it says $127.40, that is seven jobs multiplied by $18.20: what today’s open jobs pay in total. It is the going rate across the opportunities we list. It is not a daily wage, not an average of what members earn, and not a promise of what you will be paid. How many jobs are open where you live changes week to week, a job closes once the company has enough people, and plenty of members do one and stop. See the Earnings Disclaimer.
Testimonials and dramatization
Any testimonial, quote, example or story on this site describes one person’s experience. It is not typical and it is not a prediction of yours. Some material on this site is dramatized and may use actors, synthetic voices or synthetic imagery. Where a testimonial slot is still being filled, it is marked in the page source for replacement with a real, approved member quote.
Urgency and counters
The countdown and the “joined today” counter on our pages are page-side devices that reset: they indicate that opportunities open and fill on a rolling basis, not a hard deadline after which you can never join. Please do not treat either as a precise record.
Affiliates
Some traffic to this site comes from independent affiliates who are paid a commission when a purchase is made. We require them to advertise honestly, to make no income claims we do not make ourselves, never to say or imply that we pay you, and never to imply any government connection — but we cannot control everything a third party says. If you were sent here by an advertisement that claimed a government program, a benefit, a job, or a guaranteed income, that claim did not come from us; please send it to support@citizensopinionfoundation.com and we will deal with it.
No professional advice
Nothing on this site is legal, tax, financial or accounting advice. Money an outside company pays you is income and is taxable; reporting it is your responsibility. Speak to a qualified professional about your own situation.
Advertising platforms
This site is not part of, or endorsed by, Facebook, Instagram, Google, YouTube, TikTok, X or any other platform, and none of those companies has reviewed or approved anything here.
